My name is Lily Cooke, and I am a third-year student studying a Bachelor of Law/Business.

As a candidate for Secretary of the QUT Guild with Revive, I am committed to bringing much-needed change to the Guild and creating a better student experience for everyone. It’s no secret that the current Guild has been unstable, with key executives resigning and a lack of tangible contributions to student life. Campus culture has diminished, and students are left without the support and representation they deserve.

Politically, I believe in a Guild that is responsive, accountable, and proactive in addressing student concerns. I care deeply about issues such as mental health support, affordable on-campus services, and building a vibrant campus culture that brings students together. It’s time for the Guild to stop being a passive body and start advocating strongly for the student body.

If elected Secretary, my role will be to ensure clear and transparent communication between the Guild and QUT students. I will prioritise improving student engagement with the Guild, making sure that every student feels heard and represented. By working closely with the rest of the Revive team, I will push for events, initiatives, and services that enrich student life — from more frequent social events to better student support services.

The QUT Guild has the power to shape the quality of our university experience. But it needs strong leadership to fulfil its potential. Students should care about this election because it’s our chance to build a stronger, more stable Guild that genuinely works for us. With Revive, we aim to create a better future for all QUT students. Together, we can bring back the community spirit and campus culture we’ve been missing.
