I’m Jake and I’m excited to be on the Elevate ticket because we’re a team of experienced and hardworking people who I know will deliver for the QUT student community.
Building on my four years of experience in the QUT clubs’ community, I’ve stepped into the C&S Officer role this semester and have already made several milestone improvements. I’ve created and rebuilt frameworks to improve funding outcomes, club culture, dispute resolution, insurance and tax compliance. I’ve secured over $15,000 in additional funding for the Guild to back club-focused initiatives including a Steel Cap Boot Bank, White Cards for students, and free community breakfasts. I’ve opened my calendar to club executives and drawn on years of club and real-world business leadership experience to coach and develop club leaders so that they can solve problems and unlock new opportunities for their clubs.
Building on this momentum, in 2025, I will leverage my experience and networks to deliver best-ever training and coaching programs for club leaders. I will use my systems knowledge and extensive relationships to create better opportunities, events and campus culture for all students through better integration with clubs across QUT & Guild events. I will continue to improve long-neglected governance systems to ensure current and future club leaders have clear, easy-to-access guidance on how to get the best outcomes for their clubs and community for years to come.
I’m not here to play political games; I’m here to make sure that I leave QUT a better, stronger community than when I found it – and I’ve been shown to deliver on that promise for many years now.
