My name is Hanna, and I am a second-year Bachelor of Creative Industries (Fashion Communications) student at QUT.
As your candidate for Creative Industries Councillor with Revive, I am dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community for all creative students at QUT. Our current Guild has struggled to connect with students, leading to a lack of support and engagement. With Revive, I am committed to revitalising our campus culture and ensuring that every creative voice is heard.
I will advocate for fully funding our creative clubs and societies, ensuring they have the resources needed to thrive. We need better advertising to promote events and initiatives, allowing us to showcase the incredible talent within our faculty. Additionally, I will work to establish new grant opportunities for creative projects, providing students with the chance to bring their ideas to life.
Another one of my key initiatives will be partnering with Small Steps for Hannah to offer workshops on consent and healthy relationships. These sessions will educate students on respectful relationships and provide resources to foster a safer campus culture.
I also plan to improve campus safety by advocating for better lighting and expanding the safety shuttle service or securing a minibus to help students get home safely after late classes or events—simple but vital measures to ensure security, especially at night.
As we navigate the challenges of university life, I recognise the cost-of-living pressures many students face. I’ll push for affordable meal options at campus venues and advocate for initiatives that make it easier for all students to participate in campus life.
