I am Gaurang and I’m running for the role of Guild Treasurer on the Elevate ticket. Coming from a background of accounting and finance I consider myself to be a perfect fit for the role.
Not just that, as someone who has previously volunteered with the Guild, I have a deep appreciation for its significance to both the students and the QUT community. My tenure as a volunteer has not only been rewarding but also enlightening, highlighting the critical role the guild plays within our university. I have personally benefited from the guild, and I am eager to extend these advantages to every student at QUT.
As a current full-time student, I am intimately familiar with the challenges we face at university. My primary goal as treasurer will be to alleviate these issues, striving to make QUT an even more welcoming and supportive environment for students.
Moreover, I would like to boost funding for cost-of-living support, including expanding food banks, subsidizing gym memberships and more!
I am committed to advocating for student-friendly policies and ensuring their implementation, enhancing the QUT experience for all. Additionally, I look forward to collaborating with my experienced team members. Their extensive service within the guild and keen understanding of student needs will be invaluable.
