Hi there, my name is Cormack Anning, and I am running for election as a Member of the Board for our QUT Guild and as a Delegate to the National Union of Students.

After coming from other tertiary institutions, I was amazed at what QUT had to offer, and the opportunities our university provides. However, we can do better, and this is why I have chosen to run.

My goals and aspirations for this position as Member of the Board are to ensure that the Student Representative Council (SRC) receives the essential planning, funding, and governance that is vitally necessary for providing us students with services and opportunities, either through programs or on campus benefits.

Although the Board may not have the glamour of developing policies for students like the SRC, I am keen and eager to serve in this role to ensure that all students have the best opportunities available. Regardless of whoever wins the ballot, I am ready to work for the collective interests for students cooperatively.

I believe in service, accountability, and transparency. My attitude is that “if you’re going to do a job, you do it right.” I don’t believe in, “giving it a go,” or “that’ll be right.” If you allow me the privilege to represent you on our Guild Board, I promise to you that I will work hard from day one.

I want your university life to thrive, and that means a Guild Board that thrives. I am ready and able to do that, but that only comes with your support.
